Equip your Volvo XC90 with this practical, electrically folding towbar and tow loads of up to 2,700 kg. Whether it's a caravan, boat trailer or a towbar-mounted bike rack, the Genuine Volvo Towbar for the Volvo XC90 keeps you flexible.

How is the swiveling towbar 32296419 installed?

Volvo recommends having the installation carried out by a workshop. The installation instructions for the swiveling towbar show you the steps required for professional installation. If a trailer coupling is retrofitted, the vehicle's software must also be updated.
Once the trailer coupling has been fully and professionally installed on your Volvo XC90, the Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) function is activated. This stabilization system ensures that the vehicle with a coupled trailer is stabilized in situations where natural vibrations can occur. The trailer stabilizer continuously monitors the vehicle's lateral movements in particular. If a natural vibration is detected, the system intervenes and brakes individual wheels, which has a stabilizing effect on the entire combination. If the oscillation cannot be controlled by selectively braking individual wheels, all wheels are braked in a controlled manner until the natural oscillation has been dampened.

What other accessories are required for installation?

In order to correctly install the swiveling trailer hitch for the Volvo XC90, you will also need the following items, depending on the equipment of your Volvo XC90:

  • Software
    • 30644822 - must be installed by an authorized Volvo dealer

The original Volvo towbar 32296419 has been specially developed for the XC90 and meets all safety and functional requirements. It is delivered ready for installation and with the relevant certification document. A cable set with a 13-pin connector is also included in the scope of delivery.
