Volvo recommends having the installation carried out by a workshop. The installation instructions for the swiveling towbar show you the steps required for professional installation. If a trailer coupling is retrofitted, the vehicle's software must also be updated. Once the trailer coupling has been fully and professionally installed on your Volvo S60, the Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) function is activated. This stabilization system ensures that the vehicle with a coupled trailer is stabilized in situations where natural vibrations can occur. The trailer stabilizer continuously monitors the vehicle's lateral movements in particular. If a natural oscillation is detected, the system intervenes and brakes individual wheels, which has a stabilizing effect on the entire combination. If the oscillation cannot be controlled by braking individual wheels, all wheels are braked in a controlled manner until the natural oscillation has been dampened.
